Carlie Hoffer was born in 1998 as the second daughter of Mika and James and has an elder sister Emilie Hoffer who was born in 1996. Mike Brzezinski is an American talk show host on MSNBC’s weekday morning broadcast show along her husband Joe Scarborough. She started her journalism career in 1990 as an assistant at ABC World News This Morning. She was promoted to general assignment reported in 1991 as she moved to Fox affiliate WTIC-TV in Hartford, Connecticut. She served as a correspondent and anchor for Up to the Minute news program at CBS News.
She joined MSNBC in 2007 as a fill in anchor for the Up to the Minute news update and primetime newsbreaks during the week. She resigned when her renewal option was due and ended up being chosen as a cohost on Morning Joe along Willie Geist and Joe Scarborough.

She is the daughter of political scientist and diplomat Zbigniew Brzezinski who was a counselor to President Lyndon B Johnson and National Security Advisor to President Jimmy Carter.
In 2021, she was selected for the inaugural Forbes 50 over 50 a space made of scientists, entrepreneurs, and leaders over the age of 50. She was awarded an honorary doctorate by SWPS University in 2022.
